The Apothecary Diaries Summer Garden Party Report: Aoi Yuki and Star-Studded Cast Perform Live Dub of Iconic Scenes, Delighting Fans With New Announcements

On Saturday, August 15, under the bright summer sun, the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries held its special event "Summer Garden Party 2026" at PACIFICO Yokohama. In the lobby, where roughly 4,000 fans gathered, standee cutouts of the characters — newly illustrated for the "garden party" in gorgeous white-and-gold costumes — lined up to greet attendees. Even before the show began, the venue was filled with a warm atmosphere devoted entirely to the series.

As the audience eagerly awaited the start, pre-show announcements kicked things off — Basen and Lahan for the matinee performance, and Xiaolan and Shisui for the evening performance. Their special banter, exclusive to this event, drew laughter and cheers from the crowd, building anticipation to its peak. Following the opening video, the star-studded cast took the stage: Aoi Yuki (as Maomao), Takeo Otsuka (as Jinshi), Katsuyuki Konishi (as Gaoshun), Atsumi Tanezaki (as Gyokuyō), Asami Seto (as Shisui/Loulan), Misaki Kuno (as Xiaolan), Tatsumaru Tachibana (as Basen), and Toshiyuki Toyonaga (as Lahan). Yuki, who plays Maomao, opened with a warm greeting: "Everyone here loves The Apothecary Diaries, right? Otsuka, who plays Jinshi, thanked the audience for filling the venue with purple penlights, while Seto, who plays Shisui/Loulan, drew big laughs and applause with a joke likening the sea of penlights to "bugs" — a nod to Shisui's love of insects — exclaiming, "There are so many bugs!"
