Even Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki), an elf of the long-lived race, seemed to be understandably downcast by this "colossally scaled punishment." In episode 28 of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," her reaction when the great magician Serie (CV: Mariya Ise) sentenced her to a "1000-year ban" is laughable!
Serie is a great elf magician and the founder of the organization "Continental Magic Association," which oversees magicians. To Frieren, he is the mentor of her own mentor, Flamme (CV: Atsuko Tanaka). However, it appears that despite both being elf magicians, Frieren doesn't get along well with Serie. The awkwardness between the two was highlighted in Episode 28, which is the final episode of Season 1 of the anime.
In Episode 28, Fern (CV: Kana Ichinose), who passed the first-class magician exam, invited Frieren to her privileges awarding ceremony. However, for some reason, Frieren had a "very displeased face"...
Upon arriving at the venue, Frieren was stopped at the entrance with, "By decree of Master Serie, Frieren is banned. You are not allowed to enter any facilities of the Continental Magic Association for the next 1000 years," and was turned away at the reception. Though Frieren said, "It can't be helped. I've upset Serie," her face betrayed at least a little disappointment as she wore an exceedingly sullen expression.
