The examiner, Sense (voiced by Haruka Terui), praised the successful candidates, saying, "You have conquered the 'Tomb of the Fallen King.' You are more than worthy of being first-class mages. It's an achievement worthy of going down in history." However, Frieren, who was supposed to have been a major player, was nowhere to be seen, prompting the examinee Denken (voiced by Jiro Saito) to ask, "So where's the biggest contributor?"

The direction Sense looked revealed Frieren being swallowed headfirst by a mimic. Seeing Frieren flailing her legs while screaming, "It's dark, it's scary," left Denken speechless.
