Despite having a past where she defeated the Demon King as part of a hero party, Frieren has a weakness for falling into mimic traps. The pathetic sight, such a stark contrast to her previous heroics, had viewers bursting into laughter, saying things like, "What are you doing, hero!?" "Frieren never learns, lol," and "Denken's reaction is really hilarious."

The currently ongoing anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the manga of the same name, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." It is set in a world after the Demon King has been defeated, and follows the story of Frieren, a mage who has lived for over 1,000 years, as she embarks on a journey to understand humans. The original comic has received numerous awards, garnering immense support and praise, with 14 volumes published and a total circulation exceeding 24 million copies. Furthermore, the second season of the TV anime is set to air in January 2026.
