"The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest" is a 'banishment' genre anime scheduled to begin airing on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The story follows the protagonist, Alec Yugret, who is dismissed from his position as a court magician. When he reunites with his former companion from the Magic Academy, Yorha Eisentz—with whom he once formed the legendary party "Lasting Period"—the tale unfolds as the reunited four set out on a new adventure together.

This story, depicting a party reviving their bonds after forging friendships through dungeon conquests in the past and taking on adventures again, delves deeply into the nuances of how the relationships among the four evolve as the drama progresses.

With the premise that the characters already share high levels of friendship which then grow even deeper, we interviewed the four party members—Shūichirō Umeda as Alec Yugret, Yurika Kubo as Yorha Eisentz, Masumi Tazawa as Clasia Annerose, and Masaaki Mizunaka as Ornest Rain—about character development and their interactions during recording sessions.

――In a typical anime, character relationships are usually formed and developed in the early episodes, but Alec is meeting his old friends after four years with existing ties. How did you approach acting out that sense of distance? It was a reunion with old friends, but as actors, Episode 1 was your first real interaction.

Umeda: Alec strove alone within the court for his own goals, but being banished was quite a shock for him.

With his confidence lost, Alec’s interactions began not from a sense of reunited friends, but from a point where his character was struggling with self-doubt—like, “I…” as Alec was in a state of lost confidence.
