Many viewers were moved by Frieren's tears, and after the broadcast, there were numerous reactions such as "I cried from the first episode," "I didn't expect to be moved to tears in the first episode," "It hit me right in the heart," and "I'm crying as if it’s the climax, even though it's only been 20 minutes."

The anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the manga of the same name, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." The story is set in a world "after" the Demon King has been defeated and follows the journey of the 1,000-year-old mage Frieren as she seeks to "learn about humans." The original manga, which has received numerous awards and critical acclaim, currently has 14 volumes published and has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation. Additionally, the second season of the TV anime is set to air starting January 2026.
