The anime "Gintama" is based on the extremely popular manga by Hideaki Sorachi. The original manga was serialized from 2003 to 2019 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) and others, recording a worldwide cumulative circulation of 73 million copies (including digital editions) for the comics series. As an exhilarating entertainment packed with gags, intense action, humanity, and bonds, it was not only adapted into a TV anime and theatrical anime films, but also made into live-action movies that were well received.
