——In what ways did you feel that power?

Date: For this photo book, I wanted to bring out my natural side. And the natural me that I think of myself is someone who likes to fool around quite a bit, and when there's something funny, I laugh with my face all scrunched up. I feel I was able to bring out that side thanks to everyone's support.

On the other hand, there were also cool shots, or shots where I strike a pose, and for those moments, the emotional aspect, or how to "look good in the picture," were things I thought about. However, this time the shoot was in Hong Kong, a place I'd really wanted to go to for a long time, and they photographed me in a way that really stood out. The colors and atmosphere were truly amazing.

——The power of the staff and the locations, right?

Date: Rather than me saying "I did my best!" it was more like being under a spell. I was able to open my heart and unconsciously challenge myself with various expressions.

——Certainly, while you as the subject are essential, the wonderful locations also caught my eye. The photos in Hong Kong have that East Asian feel with exotic atmosphere, while also somehow evoking Showa-era Japan.

Date: Even in photos, they have incredible presence, right? But when you see them in person, there's an even different feeling.

——Meaning?

Date: For example, the shot taken in front of Monster Mansion gives the impression that there aren't many people around. But actually, there were so many people, and they were so lively. The vitality was incredible, and I think that's a sensation you can't understand unless you actually go there.

——For anyone visiting on some occasion, this photo book might serve as a guidebook!

Date: Yes (lol). Even at ordinary markets, the aroma of food and communication with shopkeepers were full of things you can't easily experience in Japan. I want to go back right now (lol).
