The manga "From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation, S-Rank Cheat Magician's Adventure Chronicle," which has surpassed a cumulative total of 1.8 million copies in the series, has been confirmed for TV anime adaptation in July 2026. Along with this announcement, the teaser visual, main staff, and main cast information have been revealed.

This work is an extraordinary academy fantasy that rewrites common sense, following the great sage Ephtal, who knew the limits of his talent and died in despair, as he achieves his "second reincarnation" into a world 400 years later where magical civilization has declined.

The released teaser visual depicts three characters: the protagonist Ephtal, the slave girl Anastasia, and Marin, who is the headmaster of a prestigious academy and Ephtal's "former disciple."

Shūichirō Umeda will play Ephtal after his second reincarnation. Reo Osanai has been cast as Anastasia, who will accompany Ephtal on his journey, and Haruka Shiraishi as his former disciple, Marin.

The staff lineup is also impressive. Director Hisashi Ishii of "Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear" and "I'm Quitting Heroing" will helm the project, with Deko Akao handling series composition, Hideki Furukawa serving as character designer and chief animation director, and EMT Squared handling animation production.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that a special stage event for this work will be held at "AnimeJapan 2026," taking place on Saturday, March 28th through Sunday, March 29th. On Sunday, March 29th, the three announced cast members will appear at the NBCUniversal Entertainment booth.
