It has been announced that the TV anime "Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko" will begin broadcasting on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS11 starting in July. Additionally, the teaser PV was unveiled at "AnimeJapan 2026," marking the first public release of footage and character voices for protagonist Danko Ichigeki and other members of the Tamarikawa Dodge Ball Club, including Chinko Kobotoke.
"Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko" is the legitimate sequel to the dodgeball manga "Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei," which gained popularity in the 1990s. Created by manga artist Tetsuhiro Koshita, who sparked social phenomena with the dodgeball boom through "Dodge Danpei" and the mini four-wheel-drive boom through "Bakusō Kyōdai Let's & Go!!," this work features Danpei's daughter, Danko Ichigeki, as the protagonist. Currently serialized in "Weekly CoroCoro Comic," it has been generating buzz primarily on social media.
In the released teaser PV, adult versions of Danpei Ichigeki and Chinnen Kobotoke also appear. It was revealed that Katsuyuki Konishi will play the role of Danpei, and Tetsu Inada will play Chinnen. Additionally, Noriko Hidaka will continue from the previous work to voice the childhood Danpei Ichigeki and serve as narrator.
