—I think it's a point many fans were interested in as well. As someone with such a strong desire to stay close to her character, having spent the long period leading up to Season 5 with Chizuru, could you tell us again what kind of girl you feel she is?

Amamiya: Let's see... she's serious, stoic, and... this might be a misleading way to put it, but she's very rational.

—She certainly feels very logical.

Amamiya: While I feel her cold and logical side, Chizuru doesn't really have anyone to protect her, does she? Her only family was her grandmother, but even she has passed away... So, I feel like part of it is for self-protection. If she acts rationally, she won't make mistakes, so to speak. There might also be a side to her where she simply doesn't have the luxury of being swept away by her emotions.

—It feels like a survival skill Chizuru chose in response to her harsh environment.

Amamiya: But even so, how should I put it... within that logic, there's also a part of her that considers the feelings of others. I get the impression she isn't very sensitive to her own feelings, but she is an incredibly considerate person toward others. Also, her sense of responsibility is very strong.

—Originally, she came to Hawaiians for her job as a rental girlfriend, but the fact that she doesn't abandon the situation even when caught in the chaos shows her responsibility toward her work.

Amamiya: That's certainly true, but it's not just because it's her job... to put it harshly, she could have blamed everything on Kazuya, couldn't she?

—Regarding the fact that she's lying to those around her about being Kazuya's girlfriend, and the various problems arising from that...

Amamiya: In fact, if you get down to it, Kazuya was the one who started it all and caused the various troubles in the first place. But she thinks, "I also said those things back then," properly taking it upon herself and feeling responsible.

Also, at Hawaiians this time, Kazuya's family is there too. She hears about the ring from Kazuya's mother and such... Under those circumstances, it would be easier to just say it (that she isn't the real girlfriend) right then and there. It feels like she might almost say it, and yet she chooses not to. Chizuru doesn't run away. So I think she has a very strong sense of responsibility.

—I've gained a new understanding that she is responsible not only for her work but also in human relationships. By the way, since you've been working on Rent-A-Girlfriend for a long time, based on your impressions so far, are there any characters besides Chizuru you'd like to try playing?

Amamiya: Well... honestly, I'd really love to try playing Ruka-chan or Mami-san.

—They are two characters at complete opposite ends of the spectrum (laughs).

Amamiya: While Chizuru is rational above all else, Ruka-chan is incredibly emotional, isn't she? So, as someone who has played Chizuru for this long, I think playing Ruka-chan would be a lot of fun. I could just blurt out whatever I'm thinking, cry if I want to, and laugh a lot.

—Indeed, there's a difference almost at the level of being polar opposites.

Amamiya: Even in that situation at Hawaiians, despite having those "hmpf" feelings toward Kazuya and Chizuru, she's enjoying the pool like crazy. Ruka-chan is amazing (laughs). Because she's such a straightforward girl, I think she'd be fun to play.
