—That was a very convincing reason.

Amamiya: As for Mami-san... Ao-san (Aoi Yuki) looks like she's having so much fun when she plays Mami-san (laughs). I don't get many chances to play so-called villainous characters who enjoy unsettling others like that, so I'm sure it would be fun... but for Mami-san, I feel like I'm still lacking in experience points and might not be able to pull it off.

—I think you'd be able to handle it, Amamiya-san, but I certainly feel impressed by Yuki-san's acting. It transcends the performance I imagined while reading the original manga.

Amamiya: When playing a single character, I tend to worry quite a bit about the consistency of the vocal tone, but the Mami-san that Ao-san plays uses so many different tones, doesn't she?

When I was at the stage of reading the original work, I didn't hear her speaking in so many different tones, but that high level of freedom connects to the "strength" of Mami-san in the anime—playing a woman who is just purely scary and disagreeable. I don't yet have the experience points or the courage to go all out like that, so I'm always learning from Ao-san's acting.

—It's a very stimulating workplace, then.

Amamiya: Yes, without a doubt!

The keywords Amamiya presented to describe Chizuru—"rational" and "responsibility"—can be felt particularly strongly in the episodes depicted in Season 5 of Rent-A-Girlfriend. While possessing the maturity of having played the role for many years, Amamiya still looks for things to absorb from her co-stars. We hope you will experience her performance through Chizuru in Rent-A-Girlfriend.
