On Saturday, March 21, ABEMA aired “Say You To Yo Asobi SAT [Showtaro Morikubo x Nobuhiko Okamoto x Masaya Fukunishi] #36.”
In this season finale for the Saturday slot, a special segment titled “Thank You for the Year! Mā-kun Graduation Special!” was held to express gratitude to Masaya Fukunishi, who is taking a temporary leave from the program.
■ Masaya Fukunishi Appears in a Flashy Outfit Reminiscent of a Kohaku Singer for His Final Episode
At the start of the program, Fukunishi appeared in a dazzling pink and gold sequin outfit, calling it a “special specification fitting for a finale.” To the tune of the classic graduation song “Tabidachi no Hi ni” (On the Day of Departure), he showcased his beautiful singing voice with parody lyrics such as “Trust in Okada” (teasing a common typo of Nobuhiko Okamoto’s name) and “Trust in the darkening, no-longer-young Grandpa (Morikubo).” This performance served as the perfect conclusion to the Saturday specialty segment, “Hiragana Theater.”
Following this, a segment titled “I Want to See It Again! Mā-kun’s Hiragana Theater!” looked back on his journey through a VTR covering all 40 of his performances. The studio erupted in laughter as they watched the project’s evolution—from simple gal-style skits to a massive project involving guests like Makoto Koichi and Tsubasa Yonaga, and even MCs and staff from other days of the week. Behind-the-scenes stories were also revealed, such as Fukunishi paying 4,000 yen out of his own pocket for a picture frame and original music, demonstrating his extraordinary passion. Morikubo and Okamoto praised his achievements, saying he “exceeded all limits” and “brought a fresh breeze” to the show.
Furthermore, in a segment called “Mā-kun’s Original Song Live Solo Performance,” he gave a live rendition of the song “#Hiragana de Yo Asobital,” which he had personally commissioned a friend to produce using his own pocket money.
