A TV anime adaptation of "Witch and Mercenary," a battle and high fantasy series with over 1.5 million copies in circulation, has been green-lit for a nationwide broadcast on the Nippon TV network starting in 2027. Alongside this announcement, a teaser visual, teaser PV, and cast information have been unveiled.

The series is based on the novel written by Kaeru Chohokiteki, which originated on a web novel submission site and is currently published by Micro Magazine under their GCN Bunko imprint. The story is a full-fledged battle and high fantasy that depicts a "journey of no return." It follows a "lonely witch" and a "solitary mercenary"—who were once enemies—as they encounter each other after a fierce battle and step together into an unknown land in search of a place to live. The animation production will be handled by Eight Bit, with Shinpei Ezaki directing and Daishiro Tanimura in charge of series composition.

The newly revealed main cast features Taito Ban as Zig Crane, a highly skilled mercenary, and Saori Hayami as Siasha, the feared and anomalous "Witch of Silence." In other news, an original voice drama Vol. 1 titled "Expectations and Anxiety," supervised by the original author, has been available on the official website and YouTube since April 15. Furthermore, short story distributions are also slated to be released on the official site.
