The official X account for the "My Hero Academia" anime has released a limited, newly drawn visual featuring characters wearing the Japan national football team uniform, which is generating a huge buzz.

The post features a powerful message, "The My Hero Academia Soccer Japan National Team ver. Visual is here!! VAMOS!! NIPPON!!", along with a link to a special website.

In the released visual, five characters—Izuku Midoriya (CV: Daiki Yamashita), Katsuki Bakugo (CV: Nobuhiko Okamoto), Shoto Todoroki (CV: Yuki Kaji), Hawks (CV: Yuichi Nakamura), and Shota Aizawa (CV: Junichi Suwabe)—are clad in the blue uniforms of the Japan national football team, "SAMURAI BLUE." A flashy depiction shows each character interacting with a soccer ball while activating their "Quirk"; green electricity crackles at Izuku's feet, explosion effects surround Bakugo, and flames envelop Shoto's arms. Furthermore, Hawks floats in the air spreading his red wings, while Aizawa glares with glowing eyes and hair standing on end as he readies his capturing cloth.

"My Hero Academia" is an anime series based on the highly popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi. Set in a world where about 80% of the global population possesses supernatural abilities called "Quirks," the story depicts a protagonist who started as a "Quirkless" boy with no powers, inherits a Quirk from the No.1 hero known as the Symbol of Peace, and grows into the greatest hero. Its intense battles and bonds with comrades are highly acclaimed both in Japan and overseas.

In response to the visual, which hints at intense plays with Quirks fully unleashed, social media was flooded with witty retorts like "Stop with the super-dimensional soccer lol!" and "It's turning into Inazuma Eleven!!" Other humor-filled reactions flew about regarding the compatibility between the characters' abilities and the sport, including voices praising the quality of the illustration, saying "It fits so well that I'd believe it if someone told me it was originally this kind of anime," as well as "With Aizawa there, I can only foresee this becoming a broken game where he unilaterally uses his Quirk and dominates."
