[Photos/Images] All of Humanity Falls for Him!? ''Frieren: Beyond Journey''s End'' Fans Go Wild Over Macht''s Alluring Look from the Golden Land: "Too Handsome" "I''m in Love" 1st

On the official X account of the anime “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End,” an illustration of “Macht of the Golden Land,” drawn by character designer Takasemaru, was released and has sparked major buzz among fans.

The illustration was reportedly drawn as a gift for fans and attendees to coincide with Anime Expo 2026, held in Los Angeles. In it, Macht—sporting magnificent horns and long reddish-purple hair and dressed elegantly—wears a composed smile with a teacup in hand. The text of the same post also announced the release window for the anime’s continuation: “Season 3 [Golden Land arc], scheduled to air in October 2027.”

“Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” is based on the smash-hit fantasy manga by Kanehito Yamada (original story) and Tsukasa Abe (art). Set in the world “after” the Demon King has been defeated by the hero’s party, it follows Frieren—an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years and who defeated the Demon King alongside the hero—as she sets out on “a journey to understand people” following the death of a former companion. The eternal flow of time unique to elves, and her fleeting yet warm connections with humans, have struck a chord with readers and viewers alike.

In response to the illustration, social media overflowed with praise: “Macht’s visuals are exploding!! I’m gonna fall for him,” “So alluring,” “His face is just too good,” and “That gaze that says he thinks nothing of humanity is just too good.” Many comments also raised expectations early for the 2027 anime broadcast, such as “I can’t take it… he’s seriously captivating!!!!!! Once the anime starts, all of humanity is going to be smitten with this guy…,” “He’s already cool, but once he gets a voice and starts moving in the anime, he’s going to keep dragging new fans down the rabbit hole,” and “I had the impression Macht was emotionless, but it looks like the anime will show us all sorts of expressions.”
