[Photos/Images] Misaki Kuno's "Grown-Up Voice" Sparks "That's Not Her Usual Voice at All!" — "Tragic Catalyst" Sorghaghtani Appears in Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia Episode 3 1st

Episode 3 of the anime Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia (airing serially), broadcast on July 11, introduced Sorghaghtani (voiced by Misaki Kuno), the principal wife of the Mongol Empire's fourth prince. Kuno, who often plays young characters, opened a "new door" with her voice performance, and viewers on social media were stunned, with comments such as "I've never heard her sound this grown-up" and "She's really transformed."

Sitara (voiced by Akira Sekine), the series' protagonist, loses Fatima (voiced by Hoko Kuwashima), who had cared for her like her own child, after Tolui (voiced by Ryota Suzuki), the Mongol Empire's fourth prince, takes from her the precious manuscript "The Elements."

In Episode 3, "The Flame That Cannot Be Extinguished," Sitara learns that Fatima's manuscript was taken because Tolui's principal wife, Sorghaghtani, wanted "The Elements." At the end of the episode, Sitara comes face to face with Sorghaghtani, who smiles and says, "You've come such a long way in this cold weather" and "You'll be the one teaching me about this book, won't you?" But when Sitara sees "The Elements" in her hands, her expression turns grim.

Kuno, who voices Sorghaghtani, posted on X on July 8: "For the first time in my voice acting career, I played a role with a husband and child. I was truly happy to be entrusted with a role that felt appropriate for my own age as an adult." She added, "I feel that Sorghaghtani is a role that opened a new door for me, unlike anything I've played before."

After Sorghaghtani finally appeared, viewers online reacted with comments such as "I was shocked at how different she sounded from the usual Kuno," "She's really transformed," "I've never heard her sound this grown-up before," "Is this really Misaki Kuno?" and "That grown-up woman's voice is amazing."
