The anime Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is based on the popular manga by Tomato Soup, serialized in Souffle (Akita Shoten). The protagonist, Sitara, loses her mother and is torn far from her homeland, but after being taken in by a family of scholars, she comes to understand the possibilities and importance of "knowledge" and deepens her education. However, after the Mongol Empire takes everything from her, Sitara resolves to use the only thing she has left — her "wisdom" — to work her way into the royal family and bring down the empire from within.
■Episode 3, "The Flame That Cannot Be Extinguished" [Synopsis]
Shira, seeking to advance her own standing, urges that the educated Sitara be introduced to Tolui. Sitara learns the reason "The Elements" was taken and Fatima was killed, and realizes that recovering the precious "The Elements" is the only thing she can do. It is also the first spark of her revenge against the Mongol Empire, which took everything from her. When she has an audience with Tolui, Sitara introduces herself as "Fatima."
