Though I Am an Inept Villainess is a TV anime based on the novel of the same name by Souki Nakamura, published under the "Ichijinsha Novels" label, with illustrations by Yukiya and a manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji currently serialized in "Monthly Comic ZERO-SUM." The story is set in the "Sugu," where hime candidates from five prestigious families are gathered to be trained as future consorts. Reirin, one of the hime, has her body swapped with that of fellow hime Keigetsu. The two eventually become entangled in a conspiracy that shakes the inner palace...
■Episode 1 "Though I Am an Inept Villainess" [Synopsis]
Reirin, the hime of the Kou family -- one of the prestigious families living within the "Sugu" in the inner palace of the state of Ei -- is beautiful and intelligent, and has won the favor of the crown prince, Gyoumei. However, on the night of the Qixi Festival, she has her body swapped by Keigetsu, the hime of the Shu family, who is called a villainess and disliked by everyone. When she wakes up, her execution has already been decided, putting her in a dire situation, but the sickly Reirin is instead delighted to have gained a healthy body...!?
