The TV anime adaptation of Satoshi Mizukami's manga Spirit Circle has been announced, and it will air and stream for 18 episodes starting in December. A teaser visual, the first trailer, the main cast, and the ending theme were also revealed all at once.

Mizukami, known for works such as Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and Sengoku Youko, began serializing this fantasy series in 2012. It has won popularity for its epic story themed around reincarnation and its carefully woven foreshadowing, and has passed 800,000 copies in combined print and digital circulation. The anime adaptation arrives in a milestone year, ten years after the manga's serialization concluded. The story begins with the meeting of Fuuta Okeya, a middle school student who can see spirits, and Kouko Ishigami, a mysterious transfer student. To unravel their bonds from a previous life, Fuuta uses a device called the Spirit Circle, which lets him relive past lives, and sets out on a journey of the soul from ancient times to the future.

The series was led by Director Tatsuo Sato, known for Martian Successor Nadesico and other works, who handled both directing and series composition. Sato passed away in April, making this his final work as a director. Production proceeded with Assistant Director Kentaro Mizuno at the center, carrying on Sato's wishes, and the anime was completed as a joint production between the animation studios NAGOMI and EOTA.

The main cast includes Kazuki Ura as the protagonist Fuuta Okeya, Anna Nagase as Kouko Ishigami, Eri Yukimura as Rune, Fuuta's guardian spirit, and Yuichi Nakamura as East, Kouko's guardian spirit. Along with the character voices, the first trailer shows Kouko's declaration, "I'm going to make you die 7 more times!!", and the fierce confrontation between the two that repeats across many past lives.

The ending theme will be "Koko ga Donna Sekai demo," a newly written song marking the first solo vocal performance by Nagase, who voices Kouko Ishigami. With its grand scale and a melody that shifts expressively, the song deepens the world of reincarnation.
