The anime Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- series is based on the popular light novel from MF Bunko J (Original Story: Tappei Nagatsuki / Illustration: Shinichirou Otsuka). It is a dark fantasy where Subaru, who is suddenly stranded in another world, faces a harsh destiny while using his "Return by Death" ability to rewind time by dying.

Episode 75: "Ruin"
[Synopsis]
After losing his memories and experiencing "Return by Death" twice, Subaru aims to escape the watchtower where no one can be trusted, in order to flee from a murderer. However, he is attacked by a giant Sand Earthworm in the desert, swallowed by the sand, and strays underground. Although he advances through the underground passage while being mentally cornered, he somehow cannot escape the watchtower. Changing his objective, Subaru climbs to the fourth floor with madness in his heart, only to witness an unbearable sight.
