TV Anime "Chainsmoker Cat" Episode 1 Synopsis and Preview Scene Cuts Released, Along with an Interview with Tetsu Inada as Landlord

The synopsis and preview scene cuts for Episode 1 "Meow am Chainsmoker Cat, Meow" have been released from the new TV anime "Chainsmoker Cat," which is scheduled to begin broadcasting on Thursday, July 2. Along with this, an interview with Tetsu Inada, who plays the Landlord, has also been released.

This series is based on the manga of the same name by Nyan Nyan Factory, currently serialized in Kodansha's "Young Magazine." Set in a world where humans and therianthropes coexist, the comedy depicts the relaxed yet trashy daily lives of Yani-Neko (CV: Yūko Natsuyoshi), a therianthrope who loves tobacco, alcohol, and laziness, and the cat-eared residents surrounding her.

The series will begin broadcasting on TOKYO MX and BS11 starting Thursday, July 2, 2026 (every Thursday at 24:30). On AT-X, it will air from Saturday, July 25 at 24:30 (repeat broadcasts: every Thursday at 28:00). Streaming will start sequentially on Netflix and other platforms from July 2, every Thursday at 25:00.
